Ducky Races at the Cheboygan County Fair

It turned out to be another beautiful week in Northern Michigan, and Blind Faith Ministries Inc., spent the week at the Cheboygan County Fair, Aug 10-15, 2026.
We pulled a ducky float in the Cheboygan 4th of July Parade, throwing cross suckers and patriotic duckies. Attached to each was a QR code, that when scanned would have taken you to the blog about the upcoming Duck Races at the County Fair. Those in possession of "special duckies" could race them for free all week at the fair.
We had a great week connecting with our community, talking about future local partnerships. The Duck Races were for fun, as we presented what the ministry has been doing, our upcoming events and fundraisers. There were fliers, QR codes to register, and opportunities to purchase August Pasties or Honduras Vanilla, Honey, Coffee or Cocoa ahead of time. 2 packages with 2 Adult passes to Avalanche Bay Water Park were even donated and raffled off.
It was certainly fun to watch families connect. Our youngest racer was a 1-yr-old discovering cause-effect in real time. We were joined by a couple with a few years on us all, matching each other to see who was the superior duck racer. In case inquiring minds want to know, she was the winner. There were other couples, siblings, and parent-child races. We even had the pleasure to be the pop up location of an impromptu 8th birthday party! That was fun.
The simple goal is to pump the handle of the pitcher pump pulling water from the tanks below sending it 10 ft down the split 4in pipes. Once your pump is primed, its ready to drop a ducky- or two into the channel. Be the first to get your ducky to drop into the pool and win a prize. We played the best 2 of 3 races.
A good time was had by all, and we look forward to future community duck races, and adding to the fair fun next year. Proceeds from A-Buck A-Duck races will go toward "The Bridge" Community Center, hopefully coming to downtown Cheboygan April 2027.
Please feel free to check out our website, www.blindfaithministries.com, use the Donate tab, and select Building Fund to contribute directly to "The Bridge" Community Center.
