The last two trips to Honduras, over the last two years, have given way to a friendship and a partnering of ministries. When Blind Faith Ministries visits, one of their goals is to build solid partnership relationships. It ensures that kingdom work continues to be carried out long after we have left. We are especially fond of ministries that are involved with reaching hospitals, orphanages, schools, communities and the streets.

The goal of "Dignity on the Road" is to reach the most impoverished on the streets of El Progreso, Yoro, Honduras. The mission of Luis Mendez

and his wife, Irma, is to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a hurting community. "We go where they are," Luis says.

So many times, this people group is overlooked and "passed by" literally. What we found out is many are hard working individuals, down on their luck, with families to feed and no real prospects for work. Everyone is required to hustle to survive.

A young girl we met, was celebrating her 7th birthday, on the streets. She picked out a Barbie or two from our stash. Children as young as 3-4 years old shucking corn to help the family survive.

When you come to a stop light in Honduras, chances are your vehicle will be approached. Maybe somebody selling mangos in a bag, or fish on a stick. Somebody will probably squirt your windshield and start scrubbing, or one may do a fire-breathing, juggling act just off your front bumper, all in hopes of a tip. A gesture of hope.

Many of these individuals have serious health concerns, like our clown friend with epilepsy, or the son with stomach problems. We were able to not only fill their bellies with a hot meal and a cold drink, we were privelaged to pray for and with them too. Building relationships with God's people. It's the least we could do.

Luis says, "I have chosen to be a blessing by transforming lives, one meal at a time."

Their mission is to bring food, dignity and hope to vunerable communities and those living and working in public spaces, transforming food insecurity into opportunity for growth and well being.

Their commitment is to go beyond the bare minimum, being exceedingly generous with their hearts and their food. They extend a helping hand to ensure that sustenance and dignity are not a privilege.

They believe that the only way to transform realities is through extraordinary generosity. It is through this abundance that dignity is restored and hope sown in every community.
