Flood Relief Effort

We have been incredibly busy these last few weeks.
It started out making many hot meals for the crews helping stabilize our rivers and dams. Then when that project slowed we received, Not 1... Not 2, but 3 relief trucks!
Teams have been volunteering to get this product distributed. Blind Faith Ministries Inc., in cooperation with Walmart and Salvation Army, have received flood relief products to distribute to our affected neighbors.
Last year when we were affected by the ice storm, we felt badly that we were not more in a position to help the community. We were just trying to get water and power too. This time, we wanted to be a bigger blessing.
Some have been able to return, but the water still has not receded enough for many to come back yet. The dam was nearly breached, with water less than 6inches from overflowing the top. Several others in the area compromised, one levy gave way by the airport.
Due to a 2023 factory fire, the hydro electric has been in duress . Getting it started again was essential, as it could increase the flow through there by 30% or more. The deterioration of that basement, is a huge concern, as it's one wall of the dam. Cheboygan Area is still in a difficult situation, we can breathe, but still expect more damage to the area.
There were over 350 boxes packed to hand out, 144 Flood Buckets with many cleaning materials, over 900 cases of water, 1# propane cylinders, diapers, and non-perishable food items available. Those in need joined us out at Black River Full Gospel Church on Orchard Beach Rd. for three different distributions so far, strategically spaced apart.
Thank you to those who have donated time volunteering to make this happen. If you would like to directly contribute to local ministry, please earmark "General Fund" in Donate tab.
There are more opportunities coming our way to continue helping our community, and we are blessed to be able to do it.
